Prof. Dr. Reşat Levent Aysever completed his undergraduate studies in the Department of Philosophy at Hacettepe University. He received his master’s degree in 1988 from the Department of Philosophy at the Institute of Social Sciences at the same university and completed his PhD in 1994 at the same institute. His doctoral dissertation, titled The Problem of Meaning and John R. Searle’s Solution, made significant contributions to the fields of philosophy of language and epistemology. He began his academic career at Hacettepe University and later continued his scholarly work at the Department of Philosophy at Dokuz Eylül University, where he earned the title of professor. His research has focused primarily on the history of philosophy, philosophy of language, epistemology, ethics, and the history of Turkish thought. Throughout his tenure at the university, he held various academic and administrative positions and taught undergraduate and graduate-level courses. He has also led projects aimed at bringing philosophy beyond academic circles and into public life, notably participating in events such as the İzmir Philosophy Days. Additionally, during his time at Dokuz Eylül University, he supervised nine master’s theses.

Prof. Dr. Kubilay Aysevener graduated from the Department of Philosophy at the Faculty of Language, History, and Geography at Ankara University in 1986 and began his master’s studies in the same year. In 1987, he was appointed as a Research Assistant in the Department of Systematic Philosophy and Logic and completed his master’s thesis in 1989. He earned his PhD in 1995 with a dissertation titled A Study on the Relationship Between History and Philosophy in R.G. Collingwood. He began his academic career as an Assistant Professor in 1997 and was later promoted to Associate Professor in 2004 and Full Professor in 2011. He played a key role in establishing the Departments of Philosophy at Ondokuz Mayıs University and Dokuz Eylül University. During the 2001–2002 academic year, he served as a visiting scholar at National Cheng Chi University in Taiwan.
Prof. Dr. Aysevener’s scholarly work has primarily focused on the philosophy of history. He is the author of the books Collingwood’s Philosophy of History (2001) and Philosophy of History (2003, 2015).
He has also published numerous articles in national peer-reviewed journals on topics such as the relationship between history and philosophy, historical knowledge and interpretation, and the relationship between humans and nature. He has been a member of various academic associations, including the Turkish Philosophical Association (where he served on the executive board from 1995 to 2001), the Association for Classical Studies, and the Turkish-Hungarian Friendship Association. Prof. Dr. Kubilay Aysevener retired from Dokuz Eylül University in 2023.
His administrative roles have included serving as Vice Dean of the Faculty of Science and Letters at Ondokuz Mayıs University (2006–2008), Chair of the Department of Philosophy (2006–2009), Chair of the Department of Philosophy at Dokuz Eylül University (2009–2010), and Dean of the Faculty of Letters at Dokuz Eylül University (2017).
